I Used To Really HATE Reading Books
Before I developed the system I’m going to share with you, I used to have a really hard time getting myself to read books…

I moved so slowly through text that my mind would get bored and go to other places. I’d then re-read the pages over and over again, until I’d end up throwing the book on the couch and watching TV.

As a result, my life was kind of… average. I had average thoughts and average dreams. I hung out with average people that earned an average income.

Life was pretty damn boring.

It wasn’t until I discovered a very important lesson about reading (which led me to create the system I’m about to share with you) that I started to truly enjoy reading books, and things really took off in all areas of my life…

From “I HATE Books” to “Give Me MORE…!”

When I was 17 years old, I spent 3 hot summer months picking strawberries in a farm and decided to try audiobooks (because I thought that might be a good way to kill time). I listened to anything that sounded interesting…

…From business, productivity, and money-making, to networking and social skills, to philosophy, psychology, self-development, to relationships and sex…

And 90 days later I had listened to 90 books!

Just like when Neo from the Matrix first plugged into the martial arts program, I suddenly realized the immense power books can have to influence and transform people’s lives… my life… with endless possibilities to learn, grow, and accomplish great things…

From ZERO to 37 Books – In 5 Days
A few months later, a friend of mine told me about a seminar on Rapid-Learning, near my hometown.

The seminar cost $1000, an astronomical amount for me at the time, so I got in touch with the teacher and (after seeing my immense motivation and persistence) he invited me to join for free.

To make sure I’ve got what it takes to help them, I started a 3 year period of extensive research – I studied everything from memory, information processing, the psychology of learning, and every speed-reading book and course on the market.

I stripped everything down to it’s core, and adapted what works to the reading needs of my students.

Here’s what you’re doing wrong:

You “speak-read” (subvocalize). The average speaking rate is 150-250 WPM. When you speak-read, instead of processing text visually, you cost yourself tons of precious time.
You’re not taking notes. Passive reading guarantees that information coming into your brain won’t register into the long-term.
You don’t have a clear goal or outcome. Your unconscious mind doesn’t know what to look for in the book, can’t tell what information is useful and what’s not, and deems everything “interesting but useless.”

Old Habits Die Hard
Let me tell you a little secret… Practice doesn’t make perfect, it makes permanent.

We were taught to read at 1st grade or earlier and have been practising terrible reading habits for decades.

No wonder Speed-Reading is so challenging to learn, especially when you don’t have a clear, structured, step-by-step method, because speed-reading goes against our old habits — it’s just too counter intuitive.
